Meta tags are still an essential set of html tags that all webmasters
should utilize in the creation of all
their web pages. These tags allow better
indexing by robot driven search engine databases such
as Alta Vista, InfoSeek,
etc. Google
stopped using meta-tags
in their search results because
of abuse; many other
search engines followed suit. They are now coming back into popularity
in various search engine sites across the web.
